Submitting Provisional Appointments

Provisional Appointments are certificates issued to a young person legally related to a VMI alum upon the request of an alum. The certificate is signed by the director of admissions and states that the appointee is "issued a provisional appointment to enter Virginia Military Institute with the Class of (appointee's future class year)." The appointment is subject to the recipient meeting all requirements for admission and is a great way to get a young relative interested in the kind of future they could have at VMI.

To initiate a Provisional Appointment for someone in your family, please fill out and submit the form below. The VMI Admissions Office receives each submission, files the appointee’s information for future communications, and notifies the Alumni Review staff for inclusion of the appointee in the next issue of the Alumni Review.
